FAA REGISTRY - Aircraft Registration Inquiry:
Colorado does not require aircraft to be registered with the State. However, all aircraft must be registered with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The above link will direct to you the the FAA's aircraft registration page.

FAA - NOTICE OF LANDING AREA PROPOSAL (FAA Form 7480) PDF
The FAA requires that notice be submitted for those who intend to construct, realign, alter, activate, deactivate or change the public/private use status of an airport. Detailed instructions and other important information is included with this form.

FAA - NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OR ALTERATION
(FAA Form 7460) PDF
The FAA requires that notice be submitted for any construction or alteration of more than 200 ft. AGL, or construction or alterations that would penetrate an airport's imaginary surface as specified under Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 77. This form also applies to any consrtuction on an airport. Additional pertinent information and detailed instructions are included with this form.

AIRCRAFT SALES/USE TAX INFORMATION
How do I know if sales or use tax is due on an aircraft?
Colorado taxes all retail sales of tangible personal property and personal property used, stored, or consumed in the state upon which no sales tax was paid. Absent a specific exemption, sales or use of aircraft in Colorado is subject to sales or use tax. The state does provide an exemption from sales tax for commercial aircraft used in interstate commerce. Commercial aircraft are aircraft carrying freight or passengers on regularly scheduled flights for a fee.
